Jewel is our very first female and is the foundation of our breeding program. Jewel is a Chocolate sable parti.
Havens Poms Tri Girls What is a "tri"? Good question! A "tri" colored pom consist of three solid colors. Tri's can come in 4 colors that I am aware of and two of the colors must be white and tan. The acceptable last color would be solid chocolate, black, blue, or lavender. The dog must be 50% white and have tan highlight either on it's cheeks, eyebrows, inside ear hair, legs or under it's tail, with the remander of the dog being 1 of the 4 solid colors. Sable dogs are not considered "tri" because color on the tips that does not go down to the base of the hair so it is not considered a solid color.
Havens Poms Sable Girls What makes a color sable? Sable is hair that changes color from the tip to the base of the hair follicle. You can have most colors in a sable color coat. Each of the dogs below are sable. The one in the middle is clearly sable while the other two are not as clear. Destiny is a reverse sable meaning that if you part her hair you are going to see black hair at the base that goes it cream color at the tip (reversing the appearance of sable but still a sable dog). JJ on the other hand is a chocolate sable. Although it is more difficult to see the tips of her coat, it is chocolate with the remainder of her coat changing to beaver. She may appear orange but the chocolate nose and green eyes are signs that tell us she is chocolate.
Havens Poms Exotic Girls All of our girls are exotic in some way. Meaning, even if they are an orange sable they are parti (50% white) which makes them exotic. The girls below are exotic but are not sable or parti so I have sorted them differently. Anytime you see "With White Markings"it means that the dog does have white on it but not 50% white. Fancy, Shyla, and Bee all have white markings but none of them are 50% white. If Shyla and Bee had 50% white they would be considered "Tri's".
